OCTASK Terms & Conditions
These terms govern the use of OCTASK 's freight coordination and logistics services.
Service Agreement
By submitting a shipment request or booking freight services with OCTASK, the customer agrees to the terms outlined below.
🚫 Prohibited & Restricted Goods (Contraband)
OCTASK strictly prohibits the transportation of illegal, hazardous, or restricted goods (“Prohibited Items”) under applicable Canadian, U.S., and international laws.
Prohibited Items include, but are not limited to:

Illegal drugs or controlled substances

Firearms, weapons, ammunition, or explosives (unless declared and legally compliant)
-
Stolen goods or property
-
Hazardous materials not properly declared (including chemicals, fuels, batteries, etc.)
-
Counterfeit, illegal, or undeclared goods
-
Any items restricted by customs, border agencies, or transport authorities
⚖️ Shipper Responsibility & Liability
The shipper/customer is solely responsible for:

The accuracy and legality of all shipment contents
-
Proper declaration of all goods being transported
-
Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
By booking with OCTASK, the shipper confirms that:

The shipment does not contain any prohibited or undeclared items
-
All information provided is true, complete, and accurate
🚨 Inspection & Enforcement
OCTASK reserves the right to:

Refuse, cancel, or stop any shipment deemed suspicious or non-compliant
-
Cooperate fully with law enforcement, customs, and regulatory authorities
-
Allow inspection of shipments where required or requested
❌ Indemnification
If any prohibited, undeclared, or illegal items are discovered:
The shipper agrees to:

Assume full legal and financial responsibility

Indemnify and hold harmless OCTASK, its operators, partners, and affiliates from any:
-
Fines
-
Penalties
-
Seizures
-
Legal claims
-
Delays or damages
-
⛔ Zero Tolerance Policy
OCTASK maintains a zero-tolerance policy for contraband.
Any violation may result in:
-
Immediate termination of service
-
Shipment seizure or reporting to authorities
-
Permanent refusal of future service
While OCTASK maintains its own registered operating authorities including CVOR (Commercial Vehicle Operator Registration – Ontario) and U.S. MC/DOT registration, certain shipments may also be fulfilled through a network of trusted and properly licensed transportation partners.
OCTASK operates as a freight coordination and logistics management service, working with licensed transportation carriers and logistics partners to arrange shipments.
Booking & Payment Terms
• A 15% booking fee is required to secure and confirm transportation services.
• 35% of the total shipment cost is due at pickup.
• The remaining 50% balance is due upon delivery.
Failure to provide required payments may result in shipment delays, suspension, or cancellation of transport services.
Late Payment
Outstanding balances may incur interest charges in accordance with applicable Ontario laws.
OCTASK reserves the right to hold or delay release of cargo where legally permitted until outstanding balances are paid.
Shipment Accuracy
Customers must provide accurate shipment information including:

dimensions
-
weight
-
number of items
-
pickup location
-
delivery location
-
cargo description
Additional charges may apply if shipment details differ from those originally provided.
Carrier Responsibility
OCTASK operates as a logistics coordination and freight management company. While OCTASK maintains its own registered operating authorities including CVOR (Commercial Vehicle Operator Registration – Ontario) and U.S. MC/DOT registration, certain shipments may also be fulfilled through a network of trusted and properly licensed transportation partners.
These carriers are selected based on reliability, licensing compliance, and operational capability to safely transport customer cargo.
When third-party carriers are used, the carrier physically transporting the shipment assumes responsibility for the transportation of goods in accordance with applicable transportation laws and regulations.
OCTASK remains responsible for coordinating logistics, communication, scheduling, and shipment management throughout the transport process.
Liability
Liability coverage for shipments is subject to the terms and insurance policies provided by the assigned carrier or additional insurance coverage selected for the shipment.

Transport schedules, pickup times, and delivery estimates may vary depending on:

traffic conditions
-
mechanical delays
-
customs procedures
-
carrier availability
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada.
